This is your life…what are you going to do with it?

Sometimes in life you have to make a decision rather you are going to go forward or stay stuck in your current situation. When you get to this point you are forced to take a honest look at your self and the barriers that maybe in the way of you reaching your success.

Yes, I know it is very difficult to admit your wrongs or decissions of the past that resulted you in the situation you see yourself in at this point. But there is light at the end of the tunnel!

When you take a hard look at yourself and make a conscious decision to push forward, at whatever cost and willing to do the work to repair your life by learning from your mistakes of the past and to live differently starting right now… you my friend, have just  taken a MAJOR step forward.

The “work” you are about to do is called  personal development. Personal development is hard work! I will not lie to you and say, it is easy. I would not be doing you any justice by setting you up from failure at the start by saying that. But, what I can say with confidence is this, when you  have the desire in your heart that you want better for yourself first, ready to hold no punches in looking at your self, and ready to remove those things in your life that are hundering you from reaching your fullest potential. You are well on your way!

Make a decisison right now to improve your life. This is your life…what are you going to do with it?

Have a great day,

Christine

Being Grateful

Hello everyone,

I spent some time this evening reflecting over the past few years of my life. Believe it or not I started to cry. God has truely blessed my life with a wonderful husband and 2 children, and a business that is on the move up even in these economic times. He has showed up on time, all the time. I must say my heart is filled with graditute and I was brought to tears.

One of the events that I reflected on was…

Only 5 years ago, my husband then, boyfriend was very ill from a serve Asthma attack. In the begining it was questionable if he would live, but God had mercy and pulled him through the illness and recovery and gave him a new way of living!  It was as if God washed away his old life and gave him a new life.  I know many of you reading this maybe able to relate.

When you wake up on the other side, after you have been through something in life and see the work God has done…you become grateful.

Then when you think back over the trails and tribulations in life, you can not help but say…THANK YOU and be moved to tears… because it is through those trails and tribulations that your faith will be tested the most.

I was there in that very moment tonight…filled with graditute and happiness!

So, I leave you with this thought…be grateful for what you have and what God has already done in your life. Know for sure that he is not done with you yet and your blessings are right around the corner.

 Thank you for stopping by,

Christine

Hello,

I wanted to stop by the blog tonight and be sure to share the information form my newsletter with you.  Hope it helps!

 8 Stress Reducing Tips

This year is coming to a close and we are looking over our life, thinking about what changes or improvements we want to bring to light in 2009! This process can be a cause of stress and anxiety for some. This month I wanted to take some time to offer you all some stress reducing tips to help you through the transition into a new and exciting year!

  • Keep a positive attitude- Remember there is power in your attitude.  Begin to use statements that start with “I can” vs “I can’t”.
  • Except that there are situations you can not control - You don’t have power over everything in life, some things are not for your understanding. Let God work it out on your behalf!
  • Learn and practice relaxation techniques - Wellness and self-care need to be a priority in your life.  Simply taking 5-10 minutes out of your day to do deep breathing and be in the moment will help you refocus.
  • Get regular exercise, eat healthy, well-balanced meals - Your body can fight off stress better when it is fit.
  • Get enough sleep- in this fast paced world we live in, a lot of us deprive ourselves of sleep. Your body needs time to recover from a stressful event.
  • Don’t rely on drugs and alcohol to deal with stress - this will only make your situation more stressful with the consequences of this behavior.
  • Seek out support- Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
  • Manage your time more effectively- Use a planner, write down task and check them off as you complete them.

I know these tips will help your transition be smooth into 2009! Good Luck to you.

Taking time for the ones you love

Hello all,

I just got back from vacation with my husband and 2 children.  It was great! My children enjoyed the countryside and the amusement park. My son found a toy car in the hotel gift shop, that he wouldn’t dear share with anyone, and held with a tight grip the last 2 days of our stay.  Although, this trip was short,  it was relaxing and rewarding to be with my family.

Often we are so busy that we don’t take time to spend with the ones we love…just to enjoy thier company. My husband and I have decided that no matter what we are committed to making time for a  vacation… to have time to reflect on the goodness and blessing of family.

Life is so demanding with both of us moving full speed ahead in pursuing our life’s passion in business, sometimes we are like two ships passing in the night.  So, for my family it has been made a priority to make the time to be together, not just on vacation, but also at home.

My hope is that before you allow the pressure of life wear you down and beat you up…  take a short vacation and just simply enjoy the company of your loved ones!

Take care and be well,

Christine

How to get “unstuck” in life!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — cmatthews @ 4:10 pm

Are you “stuck” in an area of your life and can’t figure out why you can’t move forward? A suggestion I would like to make, is learn to set SMART goals: (Specific,Measureable,Attainable,Realistic, Timely).  Using this criteria when setting goals help you stay committed!

Some benifits to goal setting:  Goals help you stay focused and on target with the things you want for your life.  Goals help prepare you for the future. Goals help you deal with setbacks and disappointments in life.

Sometimes you will need to adjust your goals depending on your life’s circumstance, but don’t stop setting goals. It is vital to obtaining your desires in life.

It is not just important to set goals. You will need to write down the steps you will take to acheive your goals ( this is your action plan).  You can write 10,000 goals , but if you do not have an action plan in place, it will be a waste of time.  Your action plan moves you forward, putting you closer to your goal!

Have a great day!

Manage your stress by forgiving others

On June 28th I gave a workshop on Stress managenment. One of the 5 points I offered for people to manage stress was to forgive. This point caused a lenghty discussion. Some people in the workshop have been there and worked on forgiveness and had such wonderful feedback to offer- thanks for your input! Others were able to realize were the inability to forgive at this point in life is cuasing continued stress and choas in their life.

Forgiving someone for doing you wrong can be very difficult, especially when it is someone you love! But forgiving is very important. Ofetn we think if we forgive someone that means we are letting them off the hook and that we let them get away with causing us pain. This is far from the truth- forgiveness means knowing and trusting that God will handle that person for the wrong they have done to you.

You have to move on from the hurt or you will stay ” stuck” and stressed everytime you think about that person or the circumstance in question. You have to decide were you wnat to spend your energy.  Happiness is a choice… choose to be happy!

Have a blessed day!

Are you going after what you want in life?

Filed under: Uncategorized — cmatthews @ 11:08 am

I was talking with a friend last night about “things we want out of life”.  She told me for years she wanted to be in business for herself.  She is tired of being on someone eles time and making what they say she is worth.  She wants to be in more control of her life… decide when to take a vaction instead of worrying about if she can get the time off from work or not.  So I asked,  what is holding you back?  My friend stated…fear of making a mistake and loosing everything I put into it.

Does fear have a hold on you?

I know she is not the only one feeling this way out there. I know someone reading this blog is probably experiencing this same fear right now! It is hard starting a business, it takes time , hard work, belief in your self when others think your business idea is the dumbest thing they ever heard, and determination that no matter what, YOU WILL NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!

Yes, it is true businesses fail everyday, some fail before getting off the ground. When I start to hear that little negative voice, I stop it immediately! Becuase if I feed into that “self negative talk”, I would of given up along time ago and would not be following my dream! Most of all, I am a firm believer in stepping out on faith and trusting that God will carry me through my challanges.

So, when that negative voice starts to brew in your head, what will you do?  Will you give up or push forward?

Have a blessed day!

Can I ask you a few questions?

Good Evening Eveyone!

When was the last time you were truely happy?  When is the last time you laughed so hard tears started rolling down your face?  Wouldn’t you like to enjoy life more often? Did you know that stress is 75-90% of the cause for a visit to your Primary care Physican?

I have come to realize that the worries and stress in life can swollow you up and steal your joy…if you let it!  See happiness is a choice. I read once that happiness is a lifestyle!  You have to make it up in your mind that you want to be happy, you deserve to be happy, and nobody and nothing is going to steal your God given right to have happiness and joy!

Often times we are so busy being everything to everyone, that we forget to take care of ourselves.  We have so many responsiblities in our careers and within our family roles, that by the time the day is over there is no time left for ourselves!

Here are 3 suggestions to get you started:

  • take a few moments in the morning to meditate and pray- this will set a positive tone to your day
  • be honest with yourself about how much you can handle - delagate responsibilites if you need to
  • Make a choice starting today that you want to be happy- eveything starts with an intention to change. Make it up in your mind that you want to change the things in your life that are making you unhappy.

You have one life…be happy and live to the fullest!

Be blessed,

Christine

Awsome opportunity to help others!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I been away so long. I have been extremely busy! On, May 18th,2008 I had the experiance of volunteering for the American Diabetes Association, Tour de Cure event! It was an awsome opportunity, I can’t describe in words the feeling of gratitude I felt that there are so many people all over the world that want to help find a cure for Diabetes.

As I mentioned in my last post, my mother passed away in 1998 from complication of diabetes. Although, my mother loved others so much, in the mist of caring for others she did not properly care for herself. She was not a healthy eater or a person who enjoyed any type of excersise! She was always tired and sleepy, now with a much better understanding of diabetes, I now know it was due to the constant elevated blood sugars that eventually destroyed her kidneys and and later led to the amputation of her leg, lost eye sight, and then death.

I dont tell you the story of my mother so that you will feel sorry for a young woman to had lost her mother at such a tender age of 21. I am sharing this story with you because there are many out there like my mother…stubborn, and for you to see through the words of a person who has lived with the affects diabetes has on a loved one and my family. Understand this…diabetes does not just affect you…it affects the ones who love you as well. So, when you are in a “I dont want to do that” mood, think of that!

This diease is REAL and has devestating consequences if you do not take everyday steps to better health…eat healthy, test your blood sugar daily(sometimes several times if needed), get up and move- 30 minutes of working at least 3 times a week can do wonders for your health, and please be sure to keep all your doctor appointments.

If you extra support, do not hesitate to contact me for Personal Wellness Coaching- I know what you are going through, I been there and through it with my mother. I even experienced Gestational diabetes myself when I was preganant with my son and had to take insulin shots 3x daily in the last 6 weeks of pregnacy. By the grace of God, It went away after delivery, but we all know it can come back, so I live my life much different then I use to!

Hope I helped someone today!
Be Blessed,
Christine
